What is Carey Lake?

Well, to start with, it was a dream that an orphan boy had, who was raised in this town on a farm.

He spent his youth working and dreaming about a different life someday. Through his school years he read many books on Abe Lincoln and used Mr. Lincoln's triumphs as a guide to succeed. He also was influenced through the old black and white movies: "Miracle on 34th Street," "It's a Wonderful Life," "Mr Smith Goes to Washington," and too many more to mention. Along with all this, he is musically inclined and loves to get people singing.

So to sum things up, Carey Lake is about caring, sharing, family and good old fashioned values.

Although we all have to live in the "real" world, for the time you are here, couldn't we pretend we are in a different time when life wasn't so hectic? Please?

Don't be rude, impatient or impolite, as everyone here is happy and will do everything in their power to make your stay a pleasant one.

We encourage singing, tapping your feet, saying hello to the person next to you and holding the door for someone who needs assistance...or a lady! Smiling, saying please and thank you, and having patience is also hardily supported. Wheewwww!!! Get the idea?

Our ice cream is made right here as well as our desserts. Our ground rounds are 90% lean (which is as lean as we can get it), and our steaks & ribs are choice grade. We will not serve any food that is not top quality.
